Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe looks likely to miss Tottenham's vital Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday owing to an injured hamstring.

The niggle also casts doubt on Defoe's chances of playing for England in the friendly against Egypt at Wembley on March 3. Manager Fabio Capello is due to name his 23-man squad on Saturday evening.

The striker felt discomfort in his leg on Wigan Athletic's notoriously poor pitch on Sunday and was substituted at half-time during Wednesday night's 4-0 FA Cup win against Bolton.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp admitted Defoe was a doubt for the weekend and said: 'His hamstring's a bit tight. He felt it at the weekend during the game (against Wigan Athletic). He didn't train on Tuesday but felt he would be OK.'
