Lee Barnard

Tottenham striker Lee Barnard has completed a permanent move to League One Southend United.

Academy product appeared to have a bright future when he broke into the first team at the end of the 2005/06 season.

But an ankle injury robbed him of the chance to progress in 2006-07, and with Spurs enjoying an embarrassment of striking riches opportunities are few and far between at White Hart Lane.

Barnard was loaned out to Crewe in August 2007 and scored three times in nine games during a spell again blighted by injury.

Barnard had previously picked up league experience during loan spells at Leyton Orient and Northampton.
