PSV dropped down to the UEFA Cup after being knocked out of the Champions League
and showed their pedigree in the first leg.
But boss Sef Vergoossen insists tonight’s game will be as tough as any Champions
League game.
“When we played at Tottenham in that atmosphere it had exactly the same feeling
as the Champions League,” he said. “It was also the feeling looking at the players.
“There is a difference between the UEFA Cup and the Champions League, but as you
get further along the clubs get bigger and the feeling within the club and team
grows.”
Tottenham skipper Ledley King is back in the squad for the UEFA Cup clash against
PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadium.
King was rested at the weekend but is likely to
return at centre-back alongside
Jonathan Woodgate, who received a knock to his foot against West Ham but was fit
to travel. Jermaine Jenas is also back in the squad after a twisted ankle in the
first leg of the last-16 clash, but Younes Kaboul (knee) and Ricardo Rocha (groin)
are out.
Alan Hutton is ineligible, while Gareth Bale (foot) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) remain long-term absentees.
