SPURS boss Juande Ramos has made a £16.25million double raid for Alan Hutton and Jonathan Woodgate.

Right-back Hutton was in London last night to thrash out a £9m move from Scottish giants Rangers.

And centre-half Woodgate will today sign a £60,000-a-week deal as he completes a £7.25m switch from Middlesbrough.

Scotland star Hutton, 23, had twice rejected Spurs.

But it is understood he will pocket £1m by moving now rather than waiting until the summer.

He will become Scotland’s most expensive outfield player as he prepares to pen a £33,000-a-week contract.

SunSport first revealed Tottenham’s interest in Hutton last October.

Boss Ramos is resigned to losing right-back Pascal Chimbonda to Newcastle and wants Hutton to fill the gap.

But he will be ineligible for the UEFA Cup as Rangers get ready to compete alongside Spurs in the last 32.

Woodgate will become Tottenham’s joint top-earner with striker Robbie Keane.

The 28-year-old will sign a 3½-year contract with an option for a further two years after Spurs beat off competition from his former club Newcastle.

Ramos also hopes to capture Brazilian left-back Gilberto, 31, from Hertha Berlin.

But his bid to sign former Chelsea midfielder Tiago, 26, from Juventus looks trickier.

Spurs have agreed a £9.3m fee with the Italians but face competition Atletico Madrid.
