JUANDE RAMOS has called for his overweight Spurs stars to sweat off the pounds.
And last night he was left sweating on their UEFA Cup hopes after a Radek Cerny howler.
The Czech keeper, drafted in to replace under-fire Paul Robinson, gifted Norwich reject David Strihavka a second-half goal.
Spurs were cruising in their first-leg tie with strikes from Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane.
And boss Ramos, who has put his squad on an ultra-strict diet to shed even more weight, said: “The game lasts 90 minutes — we have to accept the result.
"I think we could have enjoyed a better result, more definitive — but we cannot change how it finished.
“Mistakes can always happen, that is the world of football. Today it was the turn of Cerny. You don’t dwell on that too much.
“He seemed really nervous after the goal, perhaps more nervous than normal. It must be very difficult for him to be at playing at his former club.”
Tottenham, on fire in the first half, looked as though they were going to hammer the Czech side before fading.
Ramos added: “I think we really controlled the play for the first hour but then we became nervous.
“We could have achieved a better result. We let Slavia come back and we now have the second leg to play.
“Before the Carling Cup fianl, we have the second leg of this tie. All our efforts are dedicated to that. Before we finish this tie we are not going to think about Wembley.”
Striker Keane said: “In the first half we played brilliantly, they didn’t get a sniff.
“We came out in the second half and I don’t know what happened, we knew they would come out and make it difficult for us.
“The second-half performance was simply not good enough.”
As for Cerny’s blunder, Keane added: “Things happen, he made a mistake but he’s big enough to accept that.
“We’ve won the game, that’s the most important thing. But we wanted to get the job finished today.
“There’s still a bit left in this game but when we’ll get them back to White Hart Lane there’s no reason why we can’t go through.”
