Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has signed a one-year contract extension at the club that will keep him at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2011.
Cudicini was signed in January 2009 from Chelsea, where he had been displaced as No.1 by Petr Cech, and made four appearances for Harry Redknapp's side in his first season.
He was expected to challenge first-choice stopper Heurelho Gome for a starting berth in 2009-10 but, after making seven appearances, his season was curtailed by a horrific motorcycle accident in November of last year.
Cudicini, 36, fractured both wrists and injured his pelvis in the crash and it was feared his career could have been over, but after a lengthy period of rehabilitation he has returned to training with the first-team.
Head of Medical Services Wayne Diesel said "We are delighted at how well Carlo has progressed. He has shown a great deal of self discipline and motivation to come back from this."
