Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko may have spent the winter desperately trying to leave White Hart Lane, but a run in the first team has left the Russian dreaming of Tottenham glory.
The 28-year-old admits he has 'calmed down' after hitting five goals in Spurs last three matches, having previously angered Harry Redknapp by publicly angling for a move to Lokomotiv Moscow.
'Everything changes very quickly,' he told Russian newspaper Sport Express. 'When you enter the pitch, and moreover when you score, things get sorted out fast.
'The most important thing is that I came to myself and calmed down. Two weeks ago my head was stuffed with gloomy things but now it has cleared up because for a footballer, playing is the main part of my job.
'It is very remarkable when people rely on you. You perceive everything differently when you train as a first-team player.'
Lokomotiv are hoping to re-open talks in the summer about a move for the former Spartak Moscow striker, but Pavlyuchenko is only thinking about finishing the season strongly for Tottenham.
'I try not to think about my future in the team,' he said. 'At the moment it is senseless and unprofessional.
'We must finish the season, for which we have clear goals: to win the FA Cup and get into the top four in the Premier League in order to get a ticket to the Champions League. I will start thinking about my future in June.
'My teammates always treated me warmly, always supported and even showed surprise with my absence in the team. And at the moment everybody congratulates me.
'I think my good performance now is due partly to my good form and partly to the emotions of a person entering the field after a long time.'
Pavlyuchenko is expected to start for Russia in their friendly against Hungary on Wednesday night, which is expected to be his boss Guus Hiddink's farewell match.
